Christmas In July - Review! Print E-mail

Christmas In July Function, was a Beautiful Winter Night out with the temperature reaching 2 degrees in Melbourne on the 21st of July, (Melbourne is in a grip of a very cold winter). People had come to enjoy and have fun watching the different steps, one had to show off with the Rock & Roll/Jive Competition.

The Night started with the Band "Fusion", (while the heaters were running hot to keep people warm),  the  Beautiful music soon had people take to the  Dance floor. Next, it was time for the Second Band "Demolition", to take over and kept the people on the dance floor, after their 40 minute Bracket, we  had  Country Singer "Ralph Parker" of  Sydney, come on stage and made us feel that Buck Owens was amongst us.

Now the time had come for every one to get on the dance floor and show off the wonderful steps,20 couples had to face off  strong competition to win the Prestige Trophy & $200 Myers Gift Voucher, for the Rock & Roll/Jive Competition. After 7 Gruelling songs, the Winners were Canute Jacob of Hampton Park & Petula Kitto of South Bank. The Runners Up were Chris Gambin of Boronia & Allen Coleman of Pakenham who won a Trophy and $100 Myers Gift Voucher.

The Dance ended at 2.15 am with Both Bands and Ralph Parker jamming in making it a memorable Night. People had to clear the Ice on the windscreen, heat up the cars before everyone left the hall, a Grand Night and a Beautiful Christmas Touch to it all.
